Hi.  I’m Francie and I like to write.

I like to read funny, witty books and posts and I like to write my own witty stuff for others to read. My first fun blog, shoezle, started way back in 2011 when I barely knew anything about social media or how to take a picture on my shiny hot-pink cell phone. I guessed at how to blog and through the amazing feedback from readers and a bazillion writing groups and classes, I got better. I got better at blog photos too. Then I got the courage to write a book.

In the summer of 2010, my techie Hubby and amateur racer, got into a terrible, terrible cycling accident. During all that painful time, we shared the updates with lots of friends and family through….a blog! I should say shared the updates since Hubby was in bad shape. That blog not only begot another blog, but a book.

Alive and Fixable, took three years to write, edit, edit, edit and eventually turn into a book. The title came from hours of sitting in the ER, not knowing what happened to Hubby. My first thought, “Well, he’s alive.”  And then I got the first list of icky injuries and thought, “Well, he’s fixable.” And that is how Alive and Fixable: A Road to Love and Recovery came to be.

So now I am an author and a blogger. I hope you will follow or continue to follow my funny, witty posts on the adventures of empty-nesting, finding a new identity and everything in between like: wine, food, exercise, clothes and maybe a techie rant or two.
