Back again, like a pro!

Back again, like a pro.

It appears Pope Francis has really gotten under my skin.  I wrote a second letter to His Holiness because I just wanted to write him.  I wanted him to know all the “fame and fortune” I have experienced because of him.  My brother, the ex-policeman joked, “He might think you are a stalker.”  I didn’t care.  I wanted to chat about other things too.

I read my letter to my husband.  “That is political.  You need to send it into KQED Radio.”  I cut the fluff and kept the political stuff.  Within a week, I recorded my piece.

I made a day of recording.  I took my youngest son on a field trip.  He loved it.  He was in with the sound engineer and learned about mixing.  The engineer has a skateboarding son so he knows all about what’s cool for a teen.  The engineer took us on a tour of the station where we could see controls, cameras and sets for television.  My younger son was snapping photos at every turn.  “This is soo cool!  It’s just like 30 Rock!”  Lunch around the corner at Slow Club for hamburgers completed our “hip studies” for the day.

Pope Francis for US Congress will air:

Friday, October 25th at 6:06 AM; 7:35 AM and 11:30 PM on 88.5 for KQED, the local station for NPR.

If you are not in the area you can click on the KQED website’s “With a Perspective” and look for my friendly face for the MP3 version.

P.S.  I informed my cutie-pie, 80-year-old neighbor about my radio time.  I shared the topic.  “Oh.  Pope Francis is too liberal for Congress.  I’m a Tea Partier.  What dial honey?”  My response, “But he’s so kind.  We need kindness in Congress.”
